| Greetings, and welcome to www.50thdistrict.com.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you have found what you are looking
for. This page has taken a lot of time and effort of volunteers.
I would like to that them at this time. Of course
we really need to thank the staff at A Second Byte Computers. They are your hosts who donate the web space,
name fees, and so far about 84 hours of support and design time.
Normally they would charge back over $3,000.00 dollars for a project of
this magnitude, but they believe in this group and want to do anything in
their power to see it succeed.
Submissions Submissions for the web page or The Daily News should be ideally in the form of a html edited page done in a acceptable format such as Microsoft FrontPage, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft Word or just plain hand coded HTML. I say ideally because this gives us the least amount of design and editing work to do. We will except it any way you send it, such as a email attachment like Microsoft Word, Corel Word Perfect, Rich Text Format, or Adobe Acrobat pdf. You can also sent it in just plain email. The easier you make it on us, the faster your news will hit the web. If you have an upcoming event you want on The Daily News, and the calendar, get it to me ASAP so it can get posted in a timely manor. Hardcopy can be mailed to: 50th District Webpage 10 Whispering Hills Estates East Stroudsburg, PA 18301 For privacy and security or our members, submissions to The Daily News should have any last names, phone numbers, or addresses omitted unless it is okay to post them on the World Wide Web. Of it is not okay to do so but you need to have it posted so the membership only can view it, please tell me and I will provide a pass worded link so the membership only can read it. Suggestions (Additions) Suggestions are always welcome and I would love to receive them. If they are economically feasible, I will make them happen. I take gentle reminders well so if you do not here back from me, or see changes right away, send me a prodding note and I will get on the stick. Sometimes my life gets in the way of the web page. Sometimes the addition may already be there and you just do not know how to find it. Either way a note will get it straightened out. Here are the suggestions I have gotten so far:
1. A message board. I am working on this. Presently we have the technology to do this but I need help in this department. We have a lot of anti Masonic people out there, (for what ever reason) and they tend to post nasty things on message boards. I need someone who can constantly monitor this so it can stay within the interests of Masonry. that is going to mean faithfully logging into it 3 times a day reading the posts and editing them. Drop me a note of you have the time and desire to do this. 2. A District Deputy / Leadership Team notes page. I love this one, the information that a District Deputy accumulates over the year, could be written here for officers to view and learn what to do, and what not to do. It could be viewed from anywhere in the world. Notes could be left here to keep communications open to assist in the planning of events. 3. Address Labels I am working on this, a free, downloadable labels program from Avery that allows you to make labels for invitations and other communications. I am just working on the security of this feature. We need to keep our mailing list data safe and sound. 4. Free 50th District email addresses. I have this up and running, if you want an email address forwarded to your current account I can do that. 5. Every Lodge should have its own web page. Done! Each Lodge has their own web page with directions on it. We are in process of adding links to the page for some local helpful links and such. What we need from the lodges are current t-boards and a description of your year with your theme, goals, and officers to put on the page. 6. You should add a page for where to find Guest Speakers and activities Done! You can find it at Program Planning For Meetings And Events Corrections We don't know everything. That may be hard to believe coming from Past Masters but I don't. HELP ME! send me misspellings, grammatical errors, factual errors and such. Just be nice about it, and tell me what page the mistake is on. We are above the 300 page mark here and I do not remember where every word is located. The right way to do it is to click File then select Send From the drop down menu then chose send page by email from the next menu and put in secbyte@ptd.net in the address. Then type in the mistake as found and press send. Well, that is what we have time for today, so TTFN George And Ray
This page will be updated from time to time. In the mean time send all submissions additions and corrections to: secbyte@ptd.net |
